The 23rd Annual Harford Junior Track Meet will be held as two meets in 2021, on Sundays May 16 and June 6, at Bel Air High School.
The venue is the newly resurfaced Bel Air High School track, 100 Heighe St, Bel Air, 21014.
Age groups: The meet is open to all boys and girls, regardless of residence, in age groups 6-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-15, based on age on the date of the second meet, June 6.
Events by age group, meet no. 1:
For ages 6-8 and 9-10: 60 meters, 300 meters, 4x50 relay, standing long jump.
For 11-12 and 13-15: 60 meters, 600 meters, 1,500 meters, running long jump, 4x100 relay.
Events by age group, meet no. 2:
For ages 6-8 and 9-10: 100 meters, 400 meters, 4x50 relay, standing long jump.
For 11-12 and 13-15: 100 meters, 800 meters, 1,500 meters, running long jump, 4x100 relay.
Participation Limit is four events per person.
Entry fee: There is no entry fee for the 2021 meets. Entries must be made on-line at the BelAirRec.org website, red Register button.
Special provisions for COVID safety.
*Each participant must wear a mask but if the mask presents breathing problems, it may be removed the mask for the race.
*Coaches, officials, and anyone entering the infield and track area must wear masks and maintain social distancing.
*Parents and other spectators are encouraged to watch the meet from the stands and to maintain social distancing.
Awards will be presented at the end of meet no. 2 to the first three finishers, both boys and girls, in each event, including relays. Ribbons will be the awards in meet no. 1 and medals, in meet no. 2.
For relay events, teams can be formed at the meet. Batons will be furnished.
Shoes with metal spikes are not permitted in the running and jumping events.
